Presence of UNAM in Mexico and abroad

UNAM is one of the institutions most highly identified with the Mexican nation itself. It constitutes the country’s most important educational, scientific and cultural project. Indeed, it is one of Latin America’s leading institutions of any kind.

In addition to the Central Campus of University City, the UNAM maintains six satellite campuses in the Mexico City metropolitan area and is present in twenty states, including five major development poles in the states of Michoacán, Queretaro, Morelos, Baja California Norte and Yucatan. Additionally, there are four UNAM outreach centers in the United States of America, one in Canada and another in Spain.
